I'm communicating with Sam at the moment Knwatkins. He hasn't made further progress but does have some more things to try.

I've also posted in his thread about it.

The thing is his only issue is the ride, he doesn't have issues with the steering and engine lag like I also do.

So it may or may not be connected.

Well I'm in the doghouse...

Me and my partner have been discussing a Continental road trip since last year.

Shes been asking and I've just had to break the news that I will not be entertaining doing it in the L405.

I can barely tolerate driving it to work let alone thousands of miles across France, Germany and Italy.

Sorry to read that about the road trip. If the relationship with your car is starting to affect the relationship with a good partner, then it is definitely time to get rid of the car.

I agree with the suggestions to let it go, I can't see you ever getting it drive as you want it to and as time goes on it's just going to annoy you more and more. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I don't feel I can sell it just yet as I only purchased it recently and the drive home was great. Was it just the new car thing pulling the wool?

I dont understand how everybody else can be so happy and yet me so unhappy.

I've always wanted an L405 since they launched in 2012 and I honestly thought it would address the issues I had with my 2 facelift l322s.

I keep looking at big German saloons but I've always had British as a daily driver and they just don't appeal in the same way.

The other option is to go back to a 06-09 l322 as I was so happy with my Westminster.

I'm going to find another one like mine to drive so I can do a mental comparison between it, my own and Haylands one that I drove.

Thing is the 2 local dealers only seem to stock facelift 2018 onwards cars.

Do these have the same suspension or are they revised?

I need another fair comparison but it's always in the back of my mind that Haylands thought mine was OK and I thought his was OK when I drove it.

But sometimes when I'm driving mine I'm like 'surely that can't be right'

'Surely the buyer of this car new wouldn't have accepted that'

Etc

Something else I've noticed, it still takes quite a while to lift the air suspension.

From access to normal with the engine running takes 32 seconds (watching the 4x4i screen with the stopwatch on my phone)

This was tested after just having arrived at work.

Could one of the air suspension valve blocks be at fault ? Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

Have the CVD lives values been graphed while moving? Familiarising myself prior to assisting a Defender owner with a harsh ride, I checked the accelerometer voltages while stationary then over some ruts to see that all 3 varied up and down but quickly settled back to their stationary values once stopped. I then graphed the various values of the shocks, noting that the best general indicator was the current that was mostly at maximum, occasionally less over bumps then back to zero once stopped. The other attributes changed very quickly over bumps, ruts and side-slopes showing that the system was reacting to the varying conditions but impossible to know to what extent, whereas the current graph showed that the bypass valves were for most of the time meant to be fully open to provide a soft ride. However I don't know if its possible to identify faulty or worn-out shocks/valves from the shock graphs although combining height sensors might help. The terrain was quite rough in spots and travel speed around 30 kph. My IIDTool wouldn't save the graphs due to a bug.

Thanks Haylands,

So it seems I've actually found something out of spec Laughing

Here's a YouTube video of a graph via IID tool.

The vehicle has been driven at normal height for approximately 30 minutes so plenty of time for the air reservoir to be fully filled in anticipation of a lift.

Front left height sensor voltage at 2.72 volts is access height.

When it reaches 2.13v stable the display in the car shows normal height has been achieved.

Any thoughts? Any possibility you can compare Pete?

I see the car is running the compressor during the lift, I don't know if that's to aid lifting or to begin replenishing the air reservoir from the moment the lift is requested ?

If you're concerned that the sensor voltage reduces as height increases then don't be, as 2 sensors increase while the other 2 decrease as height increases. Also don't try to compare with a L322 as their arrangement is different.
