You don't "have" to code the battery in but it will take a while for the car to learn it has a new one, you could try charging the new battery overnight... |

Usual culprits if not are a failing alternator as JayGee suggests, or the final stage resistor "hedgehog". 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

Hi. just to follow up, I used my icarsoft diag box to run a voltage check with the engine on. I only saw between 11.8 and 12.2v rather than the 14.5ish I’ve been led to believe to expect. Would this point to a failing alternator? Thanks. |

With a smart charging system the alternator doesn’t put out full voltage all the time. Try switching on every electrical load and see if it goes up. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
