My bonnet has started to open by itself when parked up with the sun on it…
So the alarm goes off

It doesn’t really open, just that the sensor(s) thinks it does

Any guidance appreciated as to where the bonnet opening sensors are located ?
I have lubricated with WD40 the 2 spring loaded rods, and the bonnet catch, but this hasn’t helped.

as you look at the engine the alarm is very top left corner...

replacing the bonnet catch/plunger is one solution or connect the 2 wires together making the sensor think the bonnet is down. ... - .- -.

Or bend the metal bracket up a bit so the plunger is closer to the bonnet, or put a rubber grommet on the end of the plunger so it’s longer. I did both. No issues since…

I did this too - no issues since. 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 AB low mileage - a peach

When I bought my last FullFat it was probably 6 months before I noticed that the switch button had been taped in the down position. I found out why when I removed the tape..
I ended up buying a new one as I wanted it to be ‘right’. 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀

Suppose you could, but then your bonnet would not be covered by the alarm. The bracket isn’t massively thick and can easily be eased up a bit. That said, if the switch is broken you can disconnect it if you want.
