Cheers for that heads-up DrRob... Yes I did have bit of a search, but that looooooooong thread escaped me I reckon. Yes the hot and cold temps variations need gradual or slow (top-up) gauging I can see that now - thanks. |

Yes the old vacuum device is certainly a handy bit of kit to have around - just right for slight overfills, which I did once a few years ago. Ta... |

MSM is pushing the falshood that you need to get the oil level exactly right in order to create frustration and thus disillusion with the ICE and buy an EV 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Thanks for the offer DR... Very nice of you. The temptations of a cup o tea and a FF chit chat are well worth a trip from my south east coastline to your locale... But we've just (local mobile engineer and me) recently done the full drain with belly-pan off and specifically as I'm sure the Land Rover garages and other have probably been sucking the oil out over the last few years that I've had her, and so I wanted to fully (well nearly as not draining the few hundred mills turbos oil) drain from sump this time, whilst in plain view, where I can see it being done. Plan doing big service as have ideas to move her on soon and want next owner to have full service (as opposed to what LR give: a stroke and a tickle) to be getting on with. Bloody air filter box screws are apparently hard to come by at present says my mobile guy - as he wants to replace all as half are seized - which is having me suspect that nobody who has serviced my L322 in the four and a half years I've had her has ever changed the air filters?!? Only done 13,000 miles in her though, so not quite so bad maybe. |

No probs. I got my air box filter screws from Jaguar dealer instead of LR. Cheaper too. Don't ask!!

I’m planning an oil change ( engine, differentials & transfer box ) soon. I plan to buy manual pumps to do extract & refill.
