Gearbox learning to behave badly

Whenever I do a soft reset on the gearbox (accelerator pedal to the floor - ignition on - hold for 30 seconds - ignition off - release pedal) the gearbox seems to behave in a much more civilised manner but as the days go by the 1-2 upshift gets harsh on low throttle and it feels like it hangs on to revs a bit longer than necessary. It's had a few oil changes and also the latest software update. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Have you done the relearning cycle to get it back to your driving style?

Why are you doing it out of curiosity? Never heard of that procedure before. Curious.
I’ve had oil changes via a Megaflush at 83K and just now at 120K and never reset any adaptations etc and the gearbox has not changed its feel or behaviour in any way. Don’t fiddle was the advice given by Bodsy on both occasions Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

It's not needed unless you do a hard reset via the ECU. It may not even be a gearbox reset and may just be the accelerator / throttle response reset but the gearbox uses this as an input. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

. It cures the 1-2 upshift harshness I 've always had. Did it on my Audi which had a ZF box and the procedure was the same. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

It's designed to hold onto gears 1 and 2 for longer when cold.

I'd imagine the torque going through the box at higher revs would cause them to be a little more 'jolty' anyway. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
