Also, make sure the battery is a good one, e.g. Duracell, Varta 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

Sounds to me like it may also be a starter motor issue? The 4.4TDV8 does suffer failures regularly I'm afraid... |

My cash is on a starter motor. Had it myself and seen it a fair few times on here. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

A very well known issue is the trigger wire from the starter relay to the starter solenoid not being able to carry enough current to cause the solenoid to be operated with sufficient force to hold less than perfect contacts closed.
