Sounds like a design flaw... I did think it was an odd thing for the main dealer to inspect so closely, they must see them allot! Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Thank you. I probably have the same problem as when I drive under heavy rain the hand brake light goes on. |

I had a few incidents of the parking brake refusing to lock or unlock when wet. Just fitted a new actuator today. Found a replacement on ebay for £74 (new part) which upon arriving looks identical to the the OEM item, just without dealer tax. Fitted and working fine. Will swap the other side over when it’s a little warmer as a precautionary measure.

Do these actuators need coding or are they plug and play? 2017 SDV8 4.4 silicon silver AB

They don’t need coding. Just make sure the cable plug is fully seated when fitting the new unit. There is a small cable that clips in under the plug socket housing which can prevent the plug being fitted correctly. Ask me how I know!
