You don't need new side trims but they tend to rip off the insurance company and fit them, they should know the spec yours has, just make sure the one that turns up is the same before you pay the excess, (don't pay it up front when asked) ask the fitter, they will know...

Well as the lucky owner of Haylands 5.0 s/c I am awaiting a visit by Autowindscreens on friday to replace the windscreen. my insurance excess is £150 which is steep, i assume that is to cover the cost.

My experience with Autoglass / my insurer on a previous L405 I owned was despite insisting a genuine LR screen was fitted and that Autoglass agreed to, my insurer refused based on it being older than 3 years / out of warranty. I argued the case strongly based on a like for like replacement, but they simply wouldn’t budge.

looks like I've got a similar issue with my 2012 v8 Westminster windscreen replacement where now with the new one the auto-rain sensors and dipped lights are not working correctly.

My insurance company used Autowindsceens. The first visit they arrived with the wrong screen . After the tech guy phoned in & I got involved we cross referenced it with the original part number from LR . Then they got it right 2nd time 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Stornoway Grey with Jet interior NOW SOLD
