Forgot to put was in hte dealers today to check out why the engine management light was on !!

I think it is what has been flagged up on the forum before. The rubber breathers pipes startinng to fall apart.(on the dreaded 54k mark )

The air sensors are reading incorrectly therefore making the ecu think it is running lean. But if the leak is before the sensor it will be whats happening I guess.

Rangie is due to go the dealers again on wed.

Do a search for PCV Hose, I did a write up on them not so long ago - they will also cause your sensors to read incorrectly as you've already guessed Smile

Thanks Dan I will

As I have just bought it the dealer is paying for it to be sorted. I did take it to my usual LR mechanic use to be a master mechy at the steelers.

He diagnosed that it could be the pcv hose. Tried to inform the Dealer as I couldnt give him the fault code he decided that I should take to the steelers and it has been in. Same diagnosis as the original and now has to go back in tommorow for the them to try again.

Oh well hell be a few £ lighter in his sky rocket !

I get to drive the full fat every evening for about 4 miles at 20mph while my son falls asleep in the back. He likes to fall asleep in the car and I like taking the range for a drive, it makes a change from my daily hack.

The FF came back from the steelers with the diagnosis of the two breathers requiring a change !!!

I was bang on thanks to the forum!

The Censored decided to wash it as well!! I went mad Ive only started detailing the rangie and now it has more swirl marks!!!

Why is it a dealer cant even clean a car without scratching it ???

Didn't work for us, it was too smooth!
Had to use the Defender, getting bounced about all over the place did the trick. Laughing

Because the plum doing it doesn't care , it's a low paid basic job washing some posh nob's car. (IMO)
