My rear ones were £200 odd I think, especially if you need both flexi hoses doing too.

the reason is because the main dealers have a habit of breaking the nipples off the Brembo calibers, so they cost in the replacement for brand new calipers - thieving scum

Making up brake pipes is fairly simple, and costs about a pound a foot. Plus a pound for each union. A flaring tool is all that’s needed to make the flares which complete the new pipe. I’ve made loads up in my time. Often using the old unions if new ones of that size not to hand. So really, you are only paying some for their time to run a bit of string along the old pipe, 5to get the length. then cut a new peice to length from a roll of kunifer pipe… then thread that pipe through the car, next to the old one, bend it around a hard curve, like a large socket… unclip the old, and reclip the new… when it is ready to fit, you can trim the length exact, with a junior hacksaw, drop on the union, flare the end, and fit to the car. It’s advisable to make a blnack ‘dead end’ pipe to hold back the draining fluid, whilst the new is going in, so that the reservoir doesn’t empty and cause airlocks. Especially through the ABS. Bleed brakes, and done. |

Booked solid until early March...... I'm not sure that's going to work for any customer who needs his car and has no brakes!! I accept that indy's are busy because they're "cheaper", but with that cheaper price comes this attitude that "we're doing you a favour, and just be grateful we're allowing you to spend money with us". Personally, I'm at the point where I don't want to hear that anymore - I'd rather pay the extra. The Main Dealer will be instructed to carry out the work - I'm only asking about the cost of parts and time involved to give me more leverage for negotiating the price down. |

When you find a decent Indy for any work on any car you normally have to wait in line!! even then i struggle with some of the labor costs! but i think that is because i can do most jobs just dont have the time!! so have to accept it. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

I had my MD do my front to rear pipes with Genuine parts. Yes they will probably rust away again but an health issue stopped me doing them myself.
