Just bought a 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE and have one slight issue with it. When driving there is a rough bearing sort of noise coming from the N/S rear wheel. When on throttle the noise appears to go away and is most notable when coasting between 15 and 35mph. The rear discs are worn and corroded so I have ordered up a new set hoping this would be the issue.

Today however I got a handbrake warning fault on the dash. It didn't cause the cracking gear noise as my research leads me to believe this can be a common fault. It just said there was a fault. Turned it off and drove away and the fault cleared. For the time being I am just leaving it in Park...

Question is has anyone else had this, or does anyone know what these symptoms may be? I had thought corroded discs, wheel bearing or CV joint but now with the EPB warning I wonder if they are related...

The rear callipers are very prone to seizing as well so be prepared to replace or refurb these. The handbrake warning ( flashing) is normal if it's been parked some time and the suspension has adjusted itself as is normal 1/2 hr after shutdown. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thanks for the response. Had been driving for 30mins before handbrake fault appeared so might not be that... Rear calipers look good but I will investigate further

Just to confirm as previously stated. I bought my 2012 in May last year, with corroded rear discs & pads. I had noticed thee before purchase so already had new on order - turns out as well as those the o/s rear caliper was seized and the hand brake shoes had almost totally disintegrated too.. My rear calipers are being renewed next week with Advanced Factors supplied TRW replacements as part of preventative maintenance.

i would do the rear shoes seeing that you are going to remove callipers etc new vehicle purchase
