United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

I've been ringing round to try and see if oil cooler had been done since I noticed a dirty coolant overflow.

Supposedly it's been remapped to 400 plus. how true that is I dunno, but it certain doesn't feel as punchy as my old 4.2 SC RRS. But that had the pulley upgrade as well.

Thankfully tomorrow is gearbox flush time.

Anyone know if theres a way I can verify if it has been remapped? Its actually a sport Sad

just had her done by Bodsy.

Class service.

Seems like its never been done before at how black the oil was. On top of it being remapped as well defo glad its done.

It's a bit still a bit thuddy switching between the P/R/D but either that'll go away with adaption or it won't. the driving gears are perfect though so can't complain.

Also checked behind the pollen filter. No leaks there. I did notice that the pipe thats covered in mesh going into the cooler had black soot on it so it might need tightening. but it defo didn't come from the cooler because it was covered by the mesh. Its actually a sport Sad

He's a legend. Doing my second Megaflush next month at 140K.
I didn't know he remapped the 4.4 TDV8? ECU and bench job I thought? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Hopefully I see him in 5 years or 50k miles with same car Laughing

He doesn't, it was done by a previous shop. I was ringing round trying to find out if they've done the oil cooler gasket.

I think the oil cooler gasket was already done by RR at 80k miles but they said the cost was low on the invoice so I wanna assume it was either under warranty OR they threw in the labour as goodwill since its an inherent issue.

It is a ECU and bench job thats for sure.

Noted that at idle it does smell pretty Diesely.

Either way I'll be removing the donut/map soon for a good clean and wonder if that'll resolve the hesitancy issues at low RPM.

One thing I did wonder about interior, so I've ordered head unit.

Can I get an upper glove box that doesn't have the CD changer? Cause its about to become useless. Its actually a sport Sad

A fouled MAP sensor can cause low rpm hesitancy. If the remap was claimed to be 400bhp that's very 'aggressive / optimistic' and I'd be very tempted to get it set back to stock if you want to keep the car long term. If there's no oil in the coolant expansion tank and no oil leak down the back of the engine I wouldn't worry about the oil cooler - if it ain't broke don't fix it. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

thats next job, take the donut out and clean it.

I've read the long arguments about EGR valves, I'll just leave it and make cleaning the donut/map as part of the yearly service.

the dude who told me they did it said it was his mother in laws, so not to stereotype too hard but cant see her driving it like she stole it and the person after was similar but it was used for towing.

there is oil in the expansion tank, or atleast the expansion tank is filthy, i did a flush recently, ive got a spare expansion tank to install as well, i just didnt want to install a clean one and dirty it out. Its actually a sport Sad
