Needed it today, went and got it locally from a specialists.

But I feel like I've made a big mistake installing the air strut. I cut off the old pipe back,ie the buldge is cut off as well, Is that an issue because I have a leak from the connection? Its actually a sport Sad

Pushed the pipe in some more and that seems to have sorted the leak.

Did the other side as well

Got an error for the left side height sensor, will see if it's still a thing after calibration. Could be cause I let the hub drop to the floor when I first did it, which might have strained the sensor so lesson learned Its actually a sport Sad

error still persists for the left hand height sensor.

could I have broke it letting the hub drop like that? oddly enough its all "working" fine, ie everything is level with no issues and the output in iid matches the right side when on level ground.

or might it just need repositioning?

edit:

if i do replace, is OEM the only way forward with these? i know for sensors RR's can get really antsy if things aren't OEM. Its actually a sport Sad

Changed a front bag on my last 322, suspension was at full extent of it's travel with the bag removed and no adverse effects... could be yours didn't like it though...

Depends how long you are going to keep it, the cheap pattern parts don't last anywhere near as long as a genuine one... Thumbs Up Pete

am going for 5 years min. or till i get bored and try to buy a L405 Laughing

the annoying thing is it seems to be functioning fine so would really rather not mess with it. ill get the wheel off when I finish work on the M5 and see incase it ended up in the wrong position somehow.

the drop was sudden so wondering if it "yanked" anything internally.

i guess if i end up replacing ill do the pair. Its actually a sport Sad

No need to do the pair, if the other still works with no faults just leave it alone... Thumbs Up Pete

another day another problem, the drivers side door doesnt want to open now from either the inside or outside.

i mean initially it unlocked and it opened, but then wouldn't latch to shut. so in my stupid genuis, i close it and locked the car, but now it won't open from inside or outside.

the inside handle does "unlock" the door, but refuses to open it. am guessing something went due to this lovely cold weather.

somehow i doubt both interior and exterior cables have snapped. maybe just frozen? Its actually a sport Sad

IIRC you can get in via a rubber bung that is accessible with the rear door open, thread on here somewhere.... Thumbs Up Pete

Having said that a search reveals this has happened numerous times when cold, the electric solenoid cannot overcome the frozen lock, deicer or time should sort it... hopefully... Pete

dumb question but I assume it has to be the special VDS height sensors? because a friend of mine has a box of them but am pretty certain it's not "VDS" because its old BMW ones. Its actually a sport Sad
