Gonna do diffs and transfer myself.

I noticed the coolant tank is stained with oil. Now am assuming that means the oil cooler leak is sorted?

Am in Leeds, can anyone recommend a decent indie here?

I've noticed the round is a bit bouncy so gotta wonder are the shocks shot. But tbf so far so good. Its actually a sport Sad

Only had this car a month max and am already spending like a mad man Laughing

Full service kit, with oils for power steering/diff/transfer 350,
Fresh Coolant and distilled water, 44
Top coolant hose 113
Compressor rebuild kit 85
Set of new wheel nuts because the old ones are wrecked with new locking nuts, 100quid
Then new struts front and back
A new expansion tank because old one is filthy(mighta been handy to do this before the coolant flush but ah well will try to save the fluid Laughing)

Ofc there will also be the gearbox flush at another 350. Its actually a sport Sad

Cross articulation fault today.

But my compressor is having trouble venting, got a rebuild kit on way. Hopefully I won't be chasing my tail with it Its actually a sport Sad

If suspension is not lowering/raising as it should, try removing the brown/gold colour vent filter on the compressor. These block up over time, if suspension works ok without it drill a hole in the centre of it. There are various posts on here regarding fixes for suspension problems. -----------------------

rebuilt the compressor, its now lowering as it should. but i think ive got a leak in the front left bag. fairly severe since it drops within like 30mins.

might bite the built and just swap both shocks as they are getting to that age.

the compressor was all gunked up so now it should be breathing more freely. Its actually a sport Sad

Hmm ordered the front air bags not full struts.

At 170k mileage should I just bite the bullet and do full struts? It's 250quid vs 1k

I can literally hear the leak from the front bag, I'll take a look tomorrow and hope it's the voss fitting loose or something Its actually a sport Sad

Talk to Duckworths, a pair of BWI front struts with airbags is circa £600 for my 3.6 yours might not be that much more.

Hmm is that with active dampening?

Thats what really does it in

If I could have got the front dampers alone and upgraded later I would have but aerosus only sell those together Its actually a sport Sad

Just did the bonnet cable.

I think for the face lift ones you only need the cable and not entire mechanism because its a pita trying to use the new grommet.

I just pushed the new one back and used the existing one.

Attached a strong nylon wire/string to the old cable when you pull it back out towards footwell and then just pull it back

Don't use weak butchers twine or anything because it will snap 😂 Its actually a sport Sad

Just had a fight with the wheel nuts.

Clearly overtorqued and Censored in the past.

I need to take the wheels off properly and clean the threads but for now it'll do.

Is there any other maintenance to keep these from seizing or was someone just being a Censored with the air gun?

Am guessing reasonable amount of copper grease and torquing only to 140nm will see me set?

Anyone that has theres rounded, I managed to get the cap off and get a 19mm on there.

The procedure did claim the life of 4 sockets, but they are thankfully Halfords advanced so straight swap there. Its actually a sport Sad
