Driving up the M5 today had the dreaded bong, clenched teeth, heart jumping and arse twitching before looking at dash to see the words 'low screenwash'. Huge sigh of relief and a happy smiley face. Laughing

Fitted a Garmin Mini 2 dash cam. Used the same wiring method as SveinHa. Green and white positive ignition controlled wire to the rear view mirror and the brown and black earth. Bit fiddly but got it done. Dark now so will position it on the screen tomorrow.
Connecting to my phone took a while. Switching off and on again worked. Picture pretty good even at night. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Been searching for months to get the FBH working. So today while it's 5c I thought I would have a proper delve in to get it working. Well, turns out that fuse 59 was missing, so put another one in and hey presto it's working. Left it 10 minutes, it's still going strong and now nice and toastie inside the car. Why didn't I check the fuse in the first place? Isn't it such a great sense of feeling good that it was something so simple. I'll shall be looking forward to using it now in this cold weather.

Adjusted my tailgate height. Now have a ghost!

I adjusted my upper tailgate to get the waistline swage in-line. Used the tutorial from YouTube and all went well. Went to drive away and from the speakers is a noise that sounds like tail, it’s repetitive every 3 seconds. It happens whenever car is unlocked regardless of satnav, radio, media being on.

My initial reaction was a sensor in the tailgate was now misaligned and the car is trying to tell me but I don’t think, other than beeps there are any audible alerts.

Short of an exorcism anyone any ideas.edited to say. Edited to say Problem solved.

Halo front and rear camera issue, grrrrr.

MOT passed with 2 advisories - broken exhaust bracket which the garage welded and corroded brake pipes all round - which is strange as most of them seem to be hidden by the plastic covers under the car!

Removed the rear wiper motor and repaired the washer. Spindle too far gone just to use a new oil seal so removed all the plastic centre parts and turned out the bore to 6.5mm about 90% through, installed braided leak-off pipe in the spindle and used the original (cleaned and blown through) jet setup. Loop of pipe left for movement and a new NRV and I finally have working rear washer.

Battered seven shades of **** out of the receiver section for the detachable towbar so I could get the detachable bit detached (on the bench as was seized to hell).

Got it all detached. Had to drill out the lock as it was seized. Cleaned everything up.

Annoyed at the lock being broken I'm now waiting for a replacement insert from Poland.

Also fitted a new (secondhand) DVD changer for the RSE which I picked up off eBay for under 60 quid. Works perfectly - the old one was completely electrically dead. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

Considered swapping it for a newer one!

I love this car, it's probably the best car I've ever owned. But I was chatting the other day to the chap who looks after one of my other cars, and he was saying how much he loves his L405. So it got me thinking. I've just been scrolling through Autotrader.

I think I'll stay put though. It's a brilliant car, and I've got a spare if it needs anything big that's going to take it off the road for a couple of weeks, or even months. It can go fast, it can go anywhere. It can transport our two big dogs, the family and all our luggage comfortably. Sure, an L405 could do that too - but I really like the shape of the L322.

On balance, I think I'll spend the money giving my current car a bit of TLC instead. It's never let me down, so why swap for the sake of it?

There we are, I think I've talked myself out of it now. Laughing

First time this L322 has...

Double first for my L322 yesterday, and it doesn't even look that exciting:

... but this was the almost certainly first time it's been in mud (that photo is very deceptive) and definately the first time it's ever towed anything - so why not start with an Ifor Willams LM85 and 1500Kgs of granite railway ballast? Mike A

Collected my first Range Rover - absolutely loving it. Quite the change from a succession of 5 series BMWs over the past 15 years

Washed it for the first time.

Cheated and did a contactless wash using AutoGlym’s polar blast and wash. Does the job for a quick clean and it performs surprisingly well.

That time of year again.

And it has passed MOT with just one advisory on a bush/pin being worn on the rear sub frame (no excessive movement). Well chuffed. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
