Slow recoiling seat belts

Hi all three of my seatbelt have decided to recoil really slowly and never fully recoil resulting in doors not shutting etc - is there a fix to this? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

Two things, firstly behind the pillar trim panel there’s a metal bar screwed to the body that the belt slides behind, this gets gunged up with fluff etc. Secondly, fully extend the belt and thoroughly clean with a solution of warm water and a hand wash washing powder, then allow to fully dry out whilst still fully extended - best left until the warmer weather returns.

Take them out, wash them in a bucket of warm water & washing powder, sometimes it takes a couple of buckets, rinse in warm water then let dry naturally - not on a radiator. Obviously don't put the retractor in the bucket, use one of the food bag closers to stop the belt flying back in.

Works every time, spraying with anything is just pushing more contaminants in. The problem is that the belts get so dirty they can no longer bend enough to do the 180deg. turn at the top, wash all the muck out and they're flexible again.

Wet dishcloth with warm water, run it up & down to remove any mange that maybe on the belts, thoroughly dry then spray Mr Sheen on both sides of the belt, it’ll then give you a blister as it rockets back into its housing😂😂 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!
