So in the next couple of months, I will do my first oil change on the RR (the others have been at the stealers).
I want to work out what to order and check I am not overpaying.

Tools needed:

Draper Oil Extractor 10l (160€) - or pump and old container (30€)
36mm socket (in some places it says 32mm)

EUROLUB CLEANPOWER C1 SAE 5W-30 Engine Oil, 5L (27€) - never heard of this brand
LIQUI MOLY 3729 Top Tec 4500 5W-30 5L (45€)
Castrol Edge Professional Titanium FST C1 5W30 Diesel & Hybrid STJLR.03.5005 5L (50€)

I got all that stuff it is correct 36mm and Mahle filter, however I got my oil from Smith and Allan as recommended on here, significantly cheaper and I did it myself  Geoff

S&A don't ship to Germany; the shipping cost might also wipe out any savings. Looking at lots of the different oils here I am looking at €70-€150 for 10L of oil. Castrol is about €100 to my door. So I will think I might go for that. But I will look for offers in the next month.

My driveway isn't completely flat. When I do the oil change how important is entirely flat? need to move the other car and then with the offroad mode measure if the car sees the slope. If I was to use the driveway is the slope one way better than the other? SDV8 AB MY 2020

My driveway has a gentle slope down towards the road and the nose of my car points down the slope. With my £10 little electric pump, I consistently pump 9.4 litres out of the engine which is the capacity of the sump. Obviously completely flat is best but not 100% critical.  Kev

I would add drip tray/big piece of cardboard under the engine bay. I was surprised how much oil there was in the filter housing when I did mine even though i have done many oil changes over the years and not surprisingly some of it made its way to the floor as i moved the filter housing and filter. Dec 2021- 2010 Facelift TDV8 4.4 AB in Stornoway Grey.

Torque wrench for the new oil filter, otherwise it will leak
Otherwise you wont know its leaking till the bottom tray overflows and drips on to your drive

its relatively straighforward as above, take time unscrewing filter so it drains back, and doesnt flood as you lift it off. change the O rings on the filter holder too. i use the smith allen oil too. you can do 2 changes with filters for about £100 and still have some spare oil. i measure out the oil in an old milk jug, so i know how many full litres are going in. via a decent funnel. then run it, and check via screen buttons.

If your driveway isn’t flat and you are a perfectionist, it’s easy enough to stick the rear on axle stands on the downhill end to get it level? Plus, all that jacking work will keep you warm!  “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

It is the side to side which I need to make level. I parked on the most level part of the driveway where axle stands could be used. In the 4x4 screen. It shows front/back -3 correct as going downhill. But -5 for drives to the passenger side. I will get some small ramps to use on one side of the car.

One day when the kit car is finished I could do the oil change in the garage.

True that Smith&Allan is half the price, but with shipping and customs. Maybe on my next visit to the UK, I could pick up 20L. SDV8 AB MY 2020

I am going to buy a set of oil jugs with flexible funnels. Then my children won't use them for anything else. I need the one in the kitchen for cooking.  SDV8 AB MY 2020

Yes, the result of all this is, it’s useful to have a wife with a decent set of jugs!

However, I am wary of an invitation to several of your households due to fear of oil inebriation  “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
