Electrical issues /Parking sensors problem

Hey guys,

I’m having trouble with my parking sensors neither front or rear are working.

Upon starting the car and engaging reverse the parking sensor indicator in the car flashing and sounds but does nothing I’m not getting any clicking or vibrations front or rear.

They were working perfectly until qtr panel got clipped …

Since I’ve had the rear bumper off to paint it and refit there not working ?

I don’t have a fault code reader but I had a friend who cleared the logged faults and then sent me the faults that have returned after he cleared them - my mate is super busy so don’t want to peck his head anymore than I have already. Lol

I am assuming there’s an issue with the driver side outter parking sensor… (mostly likely the wiring going to the sensor got pulled )
Would would this on its own cause the entire pdc to stop working ?

I bought my car with the parking sensors not working - front and rear. Turned out to be the rear bumper wiring loom. Was only £40 for a new loom from ducksworth

Thanks for that info!

So whole system shuts down over a faulty loom Bow down

No problem paying for a loom just don’t want to go down the route of replacing parts and not fixing the problem !!

Probably worth a punt for 40quid though

Likley just a cut wire where they go through the inner steel bumper (Common result after a nudge) so can be repaired without doing the whole loom. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

The wiring on these cars is terrible quality. Bare unsheathed ends to connectors exposed to the elements and vulnerable to minor abrasions and impacts. They were never designed to last long..... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Bow down

Thanks For the advise … I literally pulled the loom apart as what you said made sense …

Before I did that I tested for continuity and it tested perfectly… obviously I was bending the broken wires while testing and making it appear all good Rolling Eyes Rolling with laughter

All back together now and it’s working perfectly Thumbs Up
