Replaced mine last august (2011FF) after one cracked and a second showed heavy wear, mostly around the clamps.(see picture)
Decided to go the silicone direction since they its definitely stronger than factory rubber.
She's been growling beautifully ever since!
As per previous post, from where i was inspired, i used a 70mm silicone hose cut to fit.

best to all,

Hi, having replaced mine with silicone ones I can confirm you do need to remove the donut to fit them, or at least get it to a point where you can raise each side enough to slide the old rubbers off and the new ones on.

When you see how much “crud” has built up inside, you will want to remove it to clean it out. Thumbs Up

HI Keith Moon,
Sorry for the delay in answering, been off driving the "Beast" around Europe.

Yes, must remove the air intake 'donut' which is not complicated. Just a lot of little bolts. Be careful with the plastic hoses and electric connectors.
It will give you a good opportunity to clean the muck inside. Brake cleaner and Mineral spirits work wonders.
Did mine in under 3 hours taking my time.

thanks - I’ve got the cleaned donut back in situ but struggling a bit to slide the new silicone hoses from the donut across to make the seal - are there any tips on how best to do this? cheers
