Crashing of one wiper into another while on holiday in Ireland and part (white grommet on OS linkage) split and not available as a spare. Luckily fashioned a fix by drilling a hole through the boss and reassembling it with a bolt and washers. Will probably make a new grommet on the lathe when I get back but the DIY fix is probably permanent. Managed to straighten the mangled wiper blade as well. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Had the same happen and I drilled it and used a bolt. The wipers still move but I feel more damage was done - either the arms are bent or similar as they just don't clear the windscreen as well as they used to.
