Having searched a few pages on here there is very little "Technical" threads regarding the 5.0 S/C

I can wax lyrical over my previous technical repairs and maintenance of the following

1980 3500

Soft Dash 3.9

TD6

TDV8

But am hopefully picking up a 2009 5.0 S/C Autobiography with 87,000 verified miles on clock

Engine freezing cold and not a hint of chain rattle on start up

Nice bit of history

MOT history adds up and the advisories over time have been sorted

So here's the Technical bit

Will I enjoy or regret buying a 5.0 S/C ?

What are typical faults and issues (other then normal Range Rover things) I need to be aware of

According to Pat at Gap the 5.0 L322 is the most reliable L322 ever made, had mine 2 years, did 20,000 miles in it and the only non service item was a HP fuel pump...

Loved mine, but found the 4.2 was more reliable and a better overall package. The 5.0 was mostly OK but I did have air con issues and the odd electronic glitch. With a lifetime of proper servicing, my 5.0 chains went at about 108k so you should have some headroom. Enjoy! Mike - MPx

Love my 5.0, it's scary quick. Don't bother turning the trip computer on though

Well am pleasantly surprised I am not facing page after page of "grief" with the 5.0

After a road test and good look over the body for usual L322 corrosion issues on Monday, I should be owning my first S/C 2009 - L322 5.0 S/C Autobiography

I think it’s only the chain guides. The rest are normal L322 issues….

Was it the 4.2 where the connector wires were the wrong way round on the supercharger?

So after a week of 5.0 S/C ownership I have found my 1st fault !

I put DVD's into the Clarion 6 disc player and after hearing player "searching" for DVD's the screen still reads "No Disc"

I have searched FFRR and I can only find "Invalid Disc" (Dirty Lens) but I get NO DISC

Split TV / SAT / DAB etc etc all work fine so be nice to have DVD working

Any ideas ? 2009 - L322 5.0 S/C Autobiography

Can someone please take a pic similar to mine of the lower trim on the bumper showing which part/s are missing

Have you made sure you are using the DVD changer in the boot and not the CD changer in the front?

There we go… I just need to travel back in time and I’ve won 🤣
