Here's the diagram for the exhaust system. There's a number of exhaust temperature sensors because it's a V8 - there's a set on each bank. 5 temperature sensors total.

P040D is the exhaust gas temperature one in the left hand (passenger in UK) exhaust manifold

I know it won't help you much now but I've had success in the past in shocking the sensors undone, hold the spanner on with one hand and then whack it with the palm of the other hand, creeping up on it by just applying more and more force doesn't usually end well... Sounds weird but it works for me...

Dropped the car off at a Landrover specialist today, they are going to drill out the snapped sensor and replace it then replace the manifold sensor, hope to get it back at the end of the week and fingers crossed the new sensors sort the issues out. 2012 TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue
