I got different answers from different garages on this. Some obviously can remove the AC compressor without removing too much but others said their method would involve removing a lot of the front of the car thus making doing the AC at the same time very easy. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I suspect they're referring to the fan cowling, which is a pain to remove and put back but isn't needed for the A/C job and wouldn't make it any easier regardless. The challenging part is down the left side of the engine bay removing the rear bolt and the two A/C pipes, not the front - there's actually good access at the front to get the belt and 2 front bolts off.

I only made enquiries to well respected and experienced garages and talked to them at length about the jobs about which they all had plenty of experience and knowledge 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
