For now I use a Samsung, my first android in my life that I am very disappointed with. I didn't use siri to tell you how he behaves to me. Regarding Waze, it doesn't work at all with Samsung, it shows a very simplified graphics and nothing more. I'm more upset that I can't do mirroring for TomTom, with iPhone it works very well, android doesn't seem to want to accept it.

I recently installed this system. Its worked amazing since with only one issue. The issue being sometimes when the system wakes back up my whole screen goes crazy. This is generally solved by me starting the car engine or I have to start it then shut off the engine then start it back up. It happens only a couple times, was this solved by messing with the wiring? I was told from Naviplus that this is a voltage issue and the recommended me to reroute the power cable.

Can you tell me how you re-routed the power cable?

I have the same thing and I certainly suffer from voltage drop, even with a brand new battery fitted and a resting voltage of 12.7 or above I see voltage sagging below 11 volts or more.

Are you seeing much voltage drop since re-routing the power? ie: was the Naviplus the cause of the voltage sag or was the screen static a symptom of voltage sag?

I haven’t rerouted the power, I’m a bit reluctant to do so. Mainly I don’t want to mess with it all again tbh. I haven’t noticed any battery issues or drain issue in my rover. I wonder if our static issue is similar to robkuijpeTA where he ended up messing with the ribbon cable?

Pretty much the same as me tbh, I'm a bit wary of messing with the wiring when it's basically working!

The static issue is definitely more prevalent when the battery is less fully charged however, so I'm pretty sure it's to do with that.

Currently a thousand miles from home and due to set off again shortly, so perhaps when I'm back I'll consider poking with the wiring a bit - I'm also not convinced the battery drain is related to the Naviplus, so it seems sensible to fix one problem before attempting to diagnose another and the battery drain is the biggest issue right now.

Will let you know how I get on!

Have a look at the NavTool unit too, way easier to fit and the end result is excellent.

I contacted them as well, but they did not want to send me their installation instructions on forehand to assess the amount of work/complexity/risk. So that's why i didn't what to take the risk with them. Good to hear that their solution is also OK

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, I found it whilst googling "naviplus install circuit board".

As I'm in the UK I was quite interested to read supershuttle's post here about the kit available from 'Unique Auto Developments', the dualview version is now available to order.

As I'll shortly be removing some of the dash / gloveboxes anyway for another job I did the same as robkuijpers. Contacted the company involved (UAD) and asked for a copy of the installation manual, to assess the amount of work / complexity / risk, also to decide if I'll do it when I do the other job or wait till later & get it done professionally.

I was directed to a YouTube video which is incomplete (& the bit that isn't covered is where any single / dualview differences would be I believe). I asked again and was told "The full manual for this product has not been finalised yet, however the installation is very similar to the single view product. This product will come with the full comprehensive guide in the box that details the installation with photos.".

So I asked if they would send a copy once it's finalised / by the time the units start shipping. I received a reply stating "We can't release the full comprehensive guide that is included in the box prior to purchase, however for the time being I can send across a couple of pages from the Single View L322 manual so you can get a better idea.". The couple of pages are regarding trim removal.

If it's their product and their manual then clearly it's a case of won't send, not can't send.

I wondered, is it unreasonable to ask for a copy of the instructions to decide whether or not I'll fit it myself / get a professional to fit it / decide against the idea??

Cheers

Not unreasonable at all. I expect they simply don’t want you to see how much work is involved until after they’ve got your money. Otherwise you might be put off and not purchase.

I think you're correct there Full-fat-Lance,

I queried the "We can't release..." & asked that if it's their manual and their product then what stops them, apart from not wanting to send it. I received a reply stating;

"we are unable to release the full manual prior to purchase as we have many people trying to copy our product"

I'd be fascinated to know how anyone could copy a product such as this from some fitting instructions. Even if their instructions show hi-res photos of a single-sided circuit board all they need to do is blank out the components, apart from connectors being used, as for the purposes of the instructions you need to know only how to fit it.

There's also the point that if it were to defend against copying then all 'people trying to copy our product' need to do is buy one surely?? Reinforces my opinion that Full-fat-Lance has hit-the-nail-on-the-head.

Cheers
