Smoke coming up around the oil filter and faint traces of oil in the coolant |

There are two distinct areas of potential leakage. Around the oil cooler via the main gaskets, or the oil feed pipe via (2) perished O-rings.

Cooler is made by nissens, it came with new gaskets , o rings were not changed but don’t appear to be leaking |

I do wonder about the aftermarket quality - especially the supplied gaskets.

I too also thought the issue was perished rubber seals and o-rings, not the actual oil cooler. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

I understand the cooler can warp sometimes. The garage that did mine said they had also seen coolers that had cracked.

Wot MJD said. My cooler had warped slightly as they are 2 parts and weren't sitting correctly so leaked out. |
