Anyone any experience of this ? Looking online and listening to YouTube I believe it’s the heater blower fan on its way out

Is it a straight forward fix or a garage job?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news… it’s a of a job

It’s a complete dash strip. There are some shortcuts where you can cut some of the hidden dash plastic, but it’s tough to get the fan out and new one in. And you will come away with hands that look like you lost a fight with a cheese grater!

There is a video on YouTube with the steps, plus a few threads in this very forum.

It’s very intermittent at the moment so might love with it for a few weeks and see

Not the ideal fix I know, but I seem to remember someone spraying WD40 in to keep it quiet. No idea how long it lasted or exactly where to spray…. but….

I think they sprayed via pollen box removal engine side Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
2025MY Defender D350 90 in Silcon Silver on coils
1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie"

You take the pollen box out, but you need the ignition on iirc as there are flaps that shut???

Just a thought as to whether you're sure it's the blower?

My flaps squeak when the car starts up and sound like a squeaky old video recorder but once they're open, no issues with noise. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
