4.2 SC - Oil cooler lines.

Hi All,

I've been quiet on here lately. If I am honest, i've not really driven my L322 as I want to service the oil and fix the stuck caliper.

That said, I did have it out recently... and was greeted with a split oil cooler hose at a junction.....

I was really happy with my repair, but it turns out the machinery place gave me a coolant hose.. and I am absolutely RAGING with myself for not checking the part number of the hose before fitting. I usually double check everything and would really like to hold myself to a higher standard...

FWIW - the hose was pre formed with a 90 degree bend in it.

Anyway...

Now that i've done it the cheap way and failed, I want to do it proper and not risk again.

Has anybody changed these lines before?

What are the yellow cap pieces? Are they oil connections or just mounting points? I know where the quick connect end goes, onto the cooler... but is the orange capped end hard to access? Feels like the front end/fan/rads might need to come off as there can't be much space.

If I am honest, I only replaced the rubber part because

A) It seemed easier than doing the hole line and it was only the quick connect that was leaking
B) Cheaper

I would think the yellow bits are just caps protecting whats underneath from dirt etc? Gavin
