Unlikely unless you have about a 5mm tread depth difference between the front tyres. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Once I get home, I will put the brand new, same make and size rear tyres on the front and see if that makes any difference at all.

Can the sensors be faulty but not enough to throw a fault code? Say if someone has used different brand/aftermarket ABS sensors when changing things in the past?

Sorry - you are right, Same make, same size, same pressures (may be different ages) currently on the front, which I agree makes this issue less likely. But has to be worth a try to change the brand new rears to the front and see?

Its changing fine and smoothly in manual mode but the description on that flowchart is whats happening and i beleive thats the official LR troubleshooting chart for this box. Thats why i wonder if the sensors could be ever so slightly mis reading. Up to 50 the box behaves as you would expect. this problem seems to be largely between 60-75.

Have you researched the 4 mechatronic tube seals and the block seal, these seem to be a common issue, losing pressure. Also, the shift solenoids can fail. I don't know what the symptoms of each individual part failure causes

but there are plenty of videos on how to change them. 2007 TDV8 VSE

1992 VSE gone
1966 Series 2a with V8 conversion gone

So, a bit of fiddling today with hawkeye plugged in.

At an indicated 50mph on the speedo, the LF wheelspeed read 78/79kph and the RF read 78kph

At an indicated 60mph the LF read 90kph and RF 89kph

At an indicated 70mph the LF read 108kph and RF read 107 flickering to 106

At an indicated 80mph (on private ground) the LF read 125kph and LF 123 flickering to 124kph.

The PDF above suggests a discrepancy of 1kph can cause an issue like mine. Given it happens over 55mph does this point to anything? Any ideas?

Definitely.

I will take the fronts off and compare them side by side too.

Could mismatched ABS sensors cause this? I.e. a genuine and an aftermarket on the other side?

Weird thing, that could be related is that it has a very slight pull to the left. Drive straight, wheel ahead, take hands off and it will drift to the left. Its subtle, I assumed it was road camber (its not alignment - this has just been done and I have the readouts and they are correct).

So... to come back to this. I got home a few weeks ago and parked the RR up and used the D3 instead.

Today though i swapped the front and rear pairs of wheels. The gearchanges are now as they should be and LF and RF kph readings are identical up to 70 mph. The readings on the rears are as above though so the problem is the tyres. I cannot see any perceptible difference between them off the car. Maybe slightly more tread on one side. I can't find my depth gauge to check properly.

The subtle veer to the left is gone as well.

At least it isnt a gearbox problem.

Will I cause any issues running. These tyres on the rear for a bit until they need changing? The suspension has cost a bit to put right (and found a fooked lower control arm bush on the front right today so need to do that too! This car was a poor purchase!!!)
