You might want to read through my post below about a problem I had and resolved. My car is a 2010 3.6 TDV8, so there may be differences in how the fuel rail pressure is regulated.

Brilliant I would try that but my wife (the enlightened one) had reminded me that we have a warranty on the car and after checking it out the fuel pump and most of the gubbins are covered and the AA will be collecting this morning and I still have my sanity and clean hands 🙌. Thanks for your help I will keep you updated 👍 |

Just a quick update Steve the garage had the car for the weekend but found no fault which cost me half a tank of fuel and £210. Couple of weeks later I experienced the same fault but this time the AA patrol man had said that he had come across this problem once before and said it’s the auxiliary fuel pump. He gave it a bash it sprung into life I got it home changed the pump and BOB’s your auntie it’s been fine since. Thanks for your advice |
