Adaptive cruise - storage things going on

Ok, this is going to sound strange.

Been in Spain, road, and Portugal, road and off road, and back to Spain, road.

When I arrived, I was getting forward control errors etc, but it was raining in Northern Spain, so put it down to that, they would cycle through and stop.

In Portugal, after mud, sand, gravel and dust, started getting the same message, plus Cruise unavailable. I cleaned the bumper area under the drivers side headlight, where radar is hidden, just in case. I had the solid amber triangle on all the time about the cruise unavailable, even straight on start up.

This am, crossing back into Spain, all errors disappeared, Cruise has worked no issues, no errors at all, from the Portuguese border, through Seville and down to Cadiz. I have done nothing at all.

Strange? Anyone know if there is some radar blocker in Portugal, because that is only thing I can think of why this would all of a sudden disappear, or just plain coincidence? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Check out my YouTube channel

Cruise control can be made unavailable if certain other errors are detected. For example, an electronic handbrake fault seen by the ECU will prevent the cruise control being operational.

I'm not suggesting that your cruise control is ok, just that it might be a symptom of an unrelated issue elsewhere. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I’ve plugged in the GAP tool, no errors have been logged on anything else in the vehicle that could potentially cause this, which is why this is so perplexing. I’ve no errors besides the high beam auto dimmer, which was deleted months ago.

I’ll keep an eye out to see if it returns. Check out my YouTube channel
