so yesterday I put the battery onto charge with a charger / conditioner.
once battery fully charged (took about 6 hrs using a Ctek XS7000) i took off the charger.
this morning, i use the FBh....
and guess what
somehow the battery has gone flat overnight, and within 5 minutes the FBH has shut down to preserve the battery.
and this is on a car which is meant to have had "the fix".
well I am completely fed up....

Land Rover.....if you scan these threads....you have one customer in me who may not be buying LR again in the future unless this problem is rapidly recognised (the chap on the help line yesterday was in denial......) and fixed.

There is no way I would be bothering using a battery charger. In effect you are also going against what the alternator was DESIGNED to do. The battery will never really be fully charged and shouldn't be expected to. Providing your car starts everyday then I wouldn't worry. I think we all know the FBH isn't really a feature that can be sensibly used.

FBH- had an 11MY on loan for 6 weeks before Xmas FBH was used every day ( with the crazy low temps we had ) with not one problem , unlike the 11MY Sport which failed to start every morning below -3.

Battery charging , did you have the car locked and the bonnet pushed down so it closed the contact ? Also on the fix you had you have had the new type battery fitted ? did not think the dealers had those yet. Far to many gone...

FBH is definitely there to be used. Used it on my MY10 Vogue during the really cold weather without any problem.
And if you are suggesting we should put up with several hundred quids worth of kit not being usable, then you're having a laugh. "we all know...", er..I think not. Perhaps that is how LR have got away with it over the years...too many people putting up with being fobbed off.

re the fix...yes. I have one of the new AGM batteries.
But I don't believe it is the battery that is the problem...I think it is the battery monitor, and the way the battery is charged. Or something that is causing the battery to drain.

I do have a Tracker, yes.
But also have a tracker on other car and motorcycles, and they have not been a problem.
had a tracker on the MY10 Vogue too, and that wasn't a problem.
Unless the Tracker I have is rogue......

was just a thought , i think i am with you on the "battery monitor" module telling the system taht the batt is charged when it is not , the deep charge i gave mine for 2 days got rid of all the low batt warnings and nearly all the trips since have been longer runs 1-3 hour jobs. Far to many gone...
