Had this on my 2014, but on the drivers door. They replaced the latch as apparently it is a solenoid switch in the mechanism fails, quite common they said. Keith

Do we know if the new module is an updated version or is the same old dodgy original one that's likely to fail again in the future ? |

Ours went in for "interim service" at the MD today (had a "major service") last time.

I do loads of these on 405's! Always the tiny electric motor in the bottom that fails... |

It's covered under the LR Extended Warranty.

I had this issue when I had my 2013 L405. I replaced the solenoid and that appeared to fix it for a couple of weeks but the fault recurred so obviously not that. I then read online somewhere that it can be fixed by clearing the fault code then disconnecting the battery (for 10 mins) and resetting.. That's what I did eventually and it never happened again 2017 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography

Did they definitely change yours Ryan? Or did they lube it first? |

My right rear passenger door won’t open from the inside at times. Soft close door. Cycling the child lock switch on the drivers door will allow it to open. Doesn’t effect the left rear door. I assume I need a new mechanism. Can anyone confirm? Dan. 🇨🇦 2013 L405 5.0 SCV8 |

Yes it sounds like it needs replacing sir… However, don’t leave it because if it permanently fails in the deadlocked position, it’ll mean cutting open the door to open it!!! So, do it sooner rather than later 👍 |

The latch is at fault… The second picture is of the soft close motor assembly…
