If there is room underneath with it in place, you could glue a strip of reinforcing plastic behind the side skirt. It would serve to hold the split parts together and also strengthen the joint.

You can buy a plastic repair welder off Amazon for £24.99 that will do the job. Comes complete with all the clips and attachments |

So I finally got to a stage where I was able to refit my side skirts (I’ll post more on that later on another thread) so decided to give the plastic welder a go… and will say I am bloody impressed!
Not the prettiest of jobs but the repair is where you cannot see so not bothered by that. As you can see the pin melts into the plastic and when set it’s fairly strong. I’ve used plenty of clips on both side skirts and late last night I fit them back on the car. I paid £13 from eBay and am happy with that. There’s a bit of road rash exposing the primer at the front and a few other wear and tear marks. I’ll probably get it resprayed and corrected as part of that at some point. Any decent body shop should be able to do something. Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8
