Like Craig say - it does work.
However, my son is very disappointed with the Android Auto version, the top few lines of the display are missing and there is an intermittent crackle on the audio (I have heard it). The response when he complained was "well most people have the CarPlay version, the manufacturer confirmed that Android Auto version is not as good". So I suspect getting a refund will be just too difficult and the 600 quid will have to be written off to experience.

So it looks like happy to sell it to you but not happy to sort out any after sales problems and refer you to the manufacturer. Shame really as I was looking forward to getting one.

That's why I bought one from Charles at RR world.
More expensive, yes, but he fitted it, made sure it was all up and running and is always about if you need help.

I presume the system you have had fitted uses the aux input to get the audio signal into your RR sir?

To be honest Craig I don't know.

I just left it to him to it and a few hours later he handed me a box, with the old head unit in, minus a few bits that were swapped over to the new unit.

This is what I got:

Can’t recall whether this has been asked before, but has anyone thought through or checked whether these types of adaptation are enough to mean that insurers should be notified? 2016 SDV8 AB

Ok, easy way to check… What does your dashboard display whilst you listen to Spotify or your phone? Bluetooth or Auxiliary Selected?

Yes, your insurance company should be informed no matter how small the modification! And the kicker is, most will note it on the file and say thank you with no cost… 👍

Are their any advantage/ disadvantages to using Apple CarPlay or Android ??
My phone is an iPhone, so I have only used my Intellidash on CarPlay, but just wondering if their might be more Apps etc on the Android system.

Rolling with laughter You are guilty of getting me hooked on BBC sounds at the moment for it’s selection of Christmas music.
The quality is excellent via the Aux cable to the car speakers. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

No Stan, I had the full size in my last 405 and found I used it more on the original RR screen as wifey uses the massage system constantly... (massage needs re-initiating every 5 or 10mins)

I have the carplay add on in my latest car and this one allows the seat menu to overlap the carplay screen so, an immediate upgrade over the android full sized screen... Thumbs Up

@Mike, try the sound via the FM, you'll be surprised at the quality.

@Craig, thanks for explaining.. ... - .- -.
