Not sure if it's relevant with a Range rover but I came across a similar problem with a Jag XE belonging to a mate.
Warning message appeared, he bought some Adblue online and topped it up. The message and countdown continued, he was told that Jag sensors are "sensitive" to the correct (ie expensive Jag supplied) adblue to prevent tight gits diluting their adblue.
We drained his tank filled it with the expensive stuff and its worked fine ever since.
This could have been a coincidence, perhaps the cheaper stuff he bought had been overly diluted?
Possibly worth considering?

according to google all adblues are the same so it could be a coincidence......

they should contain the same solution of 32.5% urea and 67.5% de-ionised water...

SUCCESS!!!! A more considered approach to filling it up and the other 6l went in with no problems, and the warning messages have gone.

Germany 2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Montalcino Red

So I was filling up the AdBlue today. I was told by the LR Luxembourg service department to have the car on (not running) to fill it up... I had issues the first time I filled it up.

So today it was asking for 15L I filled it up it was about 16L. The car still says fill 7L... How do I reset it? SDV8 AB MY 2020

As I refilled myself yesterday I’d like to summarize answers to most questions that could raise when you want to refill yourself. Hope that helps…

WHEN TO FILL
My 2018 V8 model shows the amount that is necessary and how long the remaining DEF will last.
Other models (as in the video down below) or software versions do not show every detail.

WHAT TO FILL
DEF = Diesel Exhaust Fluid, much better known as AdBlue in Germany (it is the same)
RR says: ISO 22241-1 or DIN 70070. According to the Internet ISO 22241-1 is part of the ISO 22241 (and not a newer or older version of it).
You can buy this in
a) “screw in bottles” as suggested by RR (the more expensive but clean solution)
b) Standard cans from the gas station (the cheaper solution)
All standard cans I could e hold of in my town in Germany mention ISO 22241 (without "-1"). These are fine for the RR.

HOW TO FILL
Make sure you have a Diesel engine Wink
Park the car on a flat level surface!
Open the bonnet, go to the left side (looking in driving direction). Open the cap….
If you use Standard cans: Pour slowly, as bubbles will go upwards and otherwise the fluid spills over the car.
The necessary amount displayed by the car not necessarily is correct. In my case it displayed 13 liters, but app. 14 liters were filled. So you should rather buy more than displayed.

Reset of the display should happen automatically, however it seems (acc. to other experiences) to take a while until the car recognizes the refill.

TOXIC?
All sources say about the DEF/AdBlue:
a) not dangerous for car paint. Just clean away fluid or residue with water
b) yes, dangerous for eyes, nose etc.
c) not dangerous however for your hands, if you clean them with enough water

WARNINGS
If the DEF tank gets completely empty: Engine does not start (as foreseen by regulations)!

Additional Information
- shows (among other things) how to check the refill distance.
- Capacity of the tank according to stan: 18 liters

Just piling on...

I had the dreaded DEF Quality Error no starts in 250ish miles. I was 150 from home. Came home and got on YouTube. Pulled/cleaned the nozzle and drove 20ish miles. The error had changed to DEF Dosing Error, but did not clear.
I didn't have time to dick with it - took it to my Indy. They (incorrectly I believe) sold me a $2,500 Diesel Particulate Filter. That's fun - huh?

I had asked them to fill the DEF as part of this newly acquired DPF - I originally read the receipt as 3L of DEF, but it was 3EA 5L bottles of DEF - total of 15L!?!?! A month/500miles later - same issue. Censored Censored

I have since become a zealot for Jimmy O'Riley on YouTube. Dude has done hundreds of these and it always seems to be the same thing.

These things throw a Red Herring error. DEF Quality really means LOW DEF. I have since kept my DEF full to overfull. I just checked it today and it said 5,997 Miles to empty. The GAP IID tells me that it is overfilled Remove 3L and test again... It can be 1/10th of a liter over and it will tell you to drain 3L...

Here is a video I did on my DEF Experience. I have also become a fan of the closed AdBlue 1.89L Bottle. I bought 2 and use the 2.5 Gal to refill them - then use them to fill the truck. If you 'overfill' them up the neck - you can get right at 2L in them.

I think the consumption may be tied to the quality of fluid.

When I bought my car off a dealer I specified the Ad Blue tank be topped up. I would get random messages pop up about inferior quality Ad Blue and a tank full only lasted 11k miles in spite of the initial message saying it was good for 27k miles. I topped off with Screwfix special and that is lasting over twice as long in terms of time and miles covered.

I suspect the dealer could have topped off the tank from a watering can.
