It says on the L460 builder for the FBH (Cabin Pre-conditioning):

''Pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin from your phone, without starting the engine or getting in the vehicle.''

So may be they've gone back to allowing the FBH to be controlled by the App and may be they have done away with the fob? MY23 D350 HSE

Another L460 spec build question:

I'm just finalising my spec and looking at something called a "Reduced Section Spare Alloy Wheel".

I'm considering this rather than the full size spare, as I may spec some different wheels within "Land Rover Accessories", so the factory fit set will probably find their way on to eBay. With this in mind, I don't want to pay a further £1,060 for a 5th full size spare wheel.

I thought this would just be like a regular "space saving wheel" the sort of temporary measure to get you home or to the garage, you know, the ugly black spare wheels you get. However, in the information tab attached to this option it states the following:

"Reduced Section Alloy Spare Wheel with vehicle jack and brace stored under loadspace floor.

Loadspace floor will be raised, and maximum space volume will be reduced.

Please contact your Land Rover dealer for more information".

I suspect if I do contact my dealer, he won't have a clue - Anyone else know what this means?

Maximum boot space is important, as I need it to be as flat as possible with maximum space to comfortably get the dogs inside - Will this wheel type eat into my loadspace in the same way that the batteries did on L405 hybrids?

Oddly enough, there's no suggestion of the full-size spare doing the same (reducing the loadspace!).

Any ideas anyone?

I was wondering the same. I don’t want reduced boot space but also not keen on not having a spare wheel at all when this is the car I do my long journeys in. Long gone are the days when a full size spare was about £250! Rolling Eyes

One of the things I did at Gaydon was lift the floor and check there was sufficient space for a full size spare wheel, I was sure there was and it was confirmed by the head of engineering who was stood next to me. I have specked a FSSW. letters not necessarily in the right order

I can't see how a full size 22" wheel fits without raising the floor and a space saver doesn't.

But thanks for raising it as I had selected the space saver and will ask my dealer to check when they finally get a L460 on their premises, which should be in a couple of weeks when they have a launch event. MY23 D350 HSE

Price for a full-size spare is insane - it used to be about £200.

A FSSW is obviously pretty tight as it deletes the leather cushions from the Tailgate Event Suite on the First Edition if specified (space saver is still fine). Yet it leaves the functionality without the cushions.

Having seen the cushions, they aren’t anything special or particularly bulky!

Likewise Autobiography....... I've also spec'd the Space Saver wheel (or Reduced Section Spare Alloy, as JLR call it).

I think this is the only viable option, particularly on the First Edition. As Autobiography says, if you spec the FSSW, you have to take the Event Seating off, which seems a shame as its F.O.C. on the First Edition.

Only other option is this tyre repair kit thingy, not sure how that would work in the event of a blowout!

I can't really see the advantage in the First Edition unless you specifically want the options it includes (or am I missing something). My dealer said it makes no difference to delivery time.

The spare wheel thing gets complicated....

1. Normally the full size spare does not alter the flooring to the boot, so I would naturally have that rather than the poxy repair kit.

2. But if you select the event seating, it folds down into the floor so you can't have the full size spare (although the configurator didn't seem to know this)

3. In the current P400e you can't have a spare wheel because of the battery. And it has a raised boot floor (I had to have a dog cage built specifically for it).

4. The dealer doesn't yet know what the floor/spare wheel implications will be for the P510e because the battery apparently is much further forward.

The First Edition has a stronger residual and is slightly cheaper than an equivalent spec Autobiography (with the P530 engine anyway).

Note: whilst it is true that First Edition and Autobiography models will be built first, anything that isn’t available on a FE but is on an AB will mean build delays. The FE has been designed to allow a more simplified/standardised build so if you start speccing different paints, adding a fixed pan roof or different leather, you will face more delays.

From the configurator it seems like full size spare wheels are only available for 21" wheels (Perhaps also 20"?). If you select a full size spare and then select 22" inch wheels, the configurator wants to remove the full size and add a reduced section spare.

I would also want a full size spare. For long trips and off roading it wouldn't make sense to be without it. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp
