Good choice. I also use the Smith and Allan Cold Climate fluid. I used to use it on my old L320 RRS in the power steering system and the dynamic response system. I now use it in the L405 dynamic response also. Kev

I thought all PAS fluid was red, obviously not. What’s the difference? Can they be mixed? 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

PAS fluid is normally just ATF which is generally red.

Try page 526 of the WSM, it gives details of the fluid flushing/refill. I did mine like this. Caution is needed as it does pump the fluid in FAST. Diagram shows a RRS !!! |

The car pumps it out if you start it up. It's a matter of removing the return hose from the reservoir and directing into a bucket while you top up the oil until it runs out clear. The workshop manual details the process quite clearly. You just need to ensure you have a helper and a big funnel to get the oil back in as quick as it pumps it out. Christian.
