Battery disconnect

I joined the RAC so I wouldn’t have to manhandle the 22” spare if I had a puncture (actually used ‘em once - worked a treat) I’d like to do a battery reset (disconnect) to try and fix something but the battery is under the spare is there another way or will I have to get the spare out? Geoff

the WM says to take the spare out and then disconnect the negative cable....remember to turn the steering wheel fully left and then right with the engine running when you reconnect.. ... - .- -.

There's a lifter you can buy for the spare if you don't already have one -

HI stan
What does turning the steering wheel fully left and then right with the engine running when you reconnect the battery do.
Thanks

It resets the steering angle sensor, after such things as a battery disconnect, having wheels off the ground during work etc. See the below Thumbs Up

from WM,

After connecting the battery, the steering wheel must be turned to
full left-hand and full right-hand lock with the engine running. This
allows the dynamic stability control system to calibrate the steering
wheel position. Failure to follow this instruction will result in a
variety of instrument cluster warning lights being illuminated.

The video is an older model but it wouldn’t be the first time the WM was subject to a “cut and paste” error.
That said it can do no harm to follow it.

Ooopppsss, sorry folks, when I posted the video about the steering angle sensor reset, I did not notice that Supershuttle's car was not an old lump like mine.

Note to self -
Will try to pay more attention in the future, before people start wondering about my mental facilities, ....probably way to late for that though Big Cry Rolling with laughter
