Hatchbag bootliner and vents.

I have just purchased a ‘Hatchbag’ fitted boot liner.
When in place the liner covers the vents on the near side of the boot.
I will cut small holes to access the deployable tow bar switches and the 12 volt plug but would rather not cut a substantial area over the vents.
Will having this vent covered cause any problems?
The Hatchbag is an excellent fit and protects the whole boot but will not be as practical if I remove a large piece.
Any advice/ suggestions gratefully received. 2016 SDV8 Autobiography 😀

I have the hatchbag liner in my car, fitted the day I got it and never had a problem.

Thanks for the quick response but the vents must do something!
Although cutting out a large hole would defeat protection. 2016 SDV8 Autobiography 😀

Not sure what the vents do to be honest, but the liner has some give so there is airflow. The liner has been in situ for 2 1/2 years without any issues. When I want access to the power outlet or the seat folding switches, I just peel the liner back to reveal them. That said, I rarely tip the seats or use the power outlet. If your use needs more frequent access then cutting small holes makes sense.

The genuine LR boot liners have cut outs for them, it was one of the deciding factors in going genuine. I was a bit nervous that the quality wouldn't be as good but its been in over a year and still looks great Thumbs Up

You shouldn’t worry, there are more extraction vents just below the rear side windows.

Bought and fitted the full Hatchbag liner as soon as I got my car last July. No issues whatsoever. Brilliant piece of kit. Thumbs Up

Thank you all for advice.
I have now fitted the Hatchbag cover and could not be more pleased.
Excellent fit and very well made.
I was obviously overthinking it, as stated there are vents at the bottom of the side windows. Thumbs Up 2016 SDV8 Autobiography 😀

Id be interested to know how you are gettiong on with the Hatchbag. I bought something similar for my RRSport but the "adhesive" velcro strips applied to the boot sidewalls soon didnt stick any more and the sides no longer stayed in place.

Does the Hatchbag hold itself in place with velcro sticky tape applied to the boot carpet sides or does it hook into the existing carpet? 2015 Range Rover L405 SDV8 AB Corris grey

Hi, in answer to your question - both fastenings used. The bootliner has not moved an iota!
It is exactly as it was when first put in and it has had heavy use.
This is the fourth Hatchbag cover I have had in different vehicles, and the quality and fit just keeps on getting better. 2016 SDV8 Autobiography 😀

I’ve had the current car for 3 years and the hatchbag was fitted the day I picked it up. Still in place, all Velcro still in place and the excess strip (the give you way more than you need) is still in my toolbox. Previous car was the same and I’m so pleased with the product I got one for my wife’s mini.

I've now had Hatchbags on 5 cars and never had any problems with them.

You MUST however, clean the areas where the velcro sticky tabs are going on the car's bodywork. Use something like AutoGlym Tar Remover so that all the silicone used in the build on the bodywork is removed, otherwise as a poster has said, after a time, the velcro will come unstuck.

Hatchbag are the best, great quality and last for ever. Use it with a K9 dog box and a Boot Buddy clear shield above the rear seats and dog hairs and any smell are a thing of the past!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up All LR cars from 1984

Hi, just for info. The vents in the back are the intake for the rear heater motor on the A/B, as you have 4 zone climate with separate motor, heater matrix and air conditioning for the rear passengers. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

We brought one from here: https://www.bootliners-uk.com/bl/land-rove...boot-liner

It was for my Wife's F Type and fitted perfectly which was great given the indents, profiles and slopes in the boot of one of them.

Still good 18 months later.

I am tempted at this price but need to ask them if there is velcro where the load rails sit. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus
