Are the any differences in front suspension struts?

Good morning all i wonder if any of you seasoned members Bow down could possibly offer some advice about the above subject, i definitely have a hole in my passenger side strut, as when i raise the RR into its highest setting, i can here air leaking, however i guess i might also have a leak in the drivers side too since if i leave the RR for any length of time both sides "drop" to the floor. So im planning on replacing both sides. Big Cry
I took the wheel off and found the Landrover Delphi sticker on the strut, put the serial number in and nothing came up on the auction sites ect, so i rang my local Landrover dealer and asked for the parts number who very kindly gave me the original number plus the superseded ones.
They are...
O/S
RBN501540
LR032566
N/S
RBN501550
LR032575

The car is a UK 2008 plate 3.6TDV8 Vogue SE with Brembo brakes and the damper in the top of the struts. Having looked around at all the struts on offer online most places say there struts will fit mine Whistle , however most struts do not show the collar for the damper at the top, and this is where i need your help and advice, since when i email them most of the sellers they just say if the part number matches it will be ok. Rolling Eyes

Are all the strut's the same, can the collar on my busted struts just be undone and swapped over to the replacement struts by undoing the centre nut on the top of the new strut? Or is it the case of there are different struts, for different specs of RR, i know about the "Adaptive" strut and my RR doesn't have this feature, just normal suspension.

Im struggling to find a choice of the ones with the collars on as they all seem to be out of stock, (why wouldnt they be, just to make the job harder)so i could do with as much advice as possible please .

regards
Tiprat.

I would imagine that you can do as you suggest, just remove the threaded collar and swap to the new strut. They can be a bit of a job to remove though and the monkey that swapped mine never got it put on tight enough before adding the damper weight to the top Rolling Eyes
Had a right job getting that weight off the top of the strut with the strut on the car, ended up drilling through the collar slightly and knocked it round with a cold chisel in the end.

My FF is also a 2008 Tdv8. I have just had both of mine done by a local chap. The front right was done first. It was necessary to remove the vibration damper from the old strut. It had to be done once removed as there is no way to hold it in situ. I detailed it on here https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic60828.html

I then decided to have the front left done. The strut for that was an Arnott and came with the vibration damper already fitted. Only a week or so since fitting and so far so good. Another member on here has had Arnott fitted for over six months and is happy with them.

I got them from Autodoc France but a German company. They have a UK company Autodoc UK. I was happy with their prices and delivery here.

In the past, for a previous FF I got Delphi struts from Island 4x4. As Tinman says, Duckworths do a discount for forum members.
