On my TD6 I changed both although only one was defective. The consensus is that if one has gone the other won't be far behind.

Change both, dont use Land Rover parts, use a good independent to fit them or do it yourself. The air bags themselves are circa £150 each from the likes of Island 4x4, OE quality, I fitted mine in about 1.5 hrs per side, on the drive with no ramp. BMW i3 Electric Car

Best to do in pairs, as others have said. Don’t want uneven handling side to side.

I changed both when one was finished, I changed both complete struts at home on ramps, took 30mins per side, looking at the one I could have left and it looked like it would only have lasted another few weeks if that, it was almost threadbare and waiting to go pop

The accepted wisdom on here is to change both at the same time. I didn't and 5 years later things are still going strong; on both sides.

It's usually the front left that goes first somehow.

Just done this. Broke the torque wrench in the process.

You had better not attempt to R&R the crankshaft pulley if 250 Nm is problematic! |

Mine goes to 210 so did it to that and then a bit more with my longer breaker bar. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

These bad boys;
In my case they took some serious effort to remove, ended up with a 5ft steel bar on the breaker just to get them to move then a large lump hammer to get them out. Whatever you do get new bolts, do not refit the old ones. Yours being newer might not be so bad, the Rimmer Bros YouTube video is very good and is on the same type as yours. Don’t worry about the torque, they are simply very tight. Most torque wrenches will be within a small margin of what is needed, just go another “argh” after that. Jon |
