While working on my bushes, I’ve been taking Fisha’s lead and derusting my sub frame and arms ( mean suspension arms… although my arms are also covered in paint!).

If those are the front flexibles, they were subject to a recall. If they haven’t been done on yours it would be worth exploring with your Main Dealer.

DON'T PAINT THEM..... Take them off and replace them whilst your refurbishing your subframe sir... They run down the rear wishbones and they rot BADLY... So, it's about the right age for yours to be replaced... Whilst you're at it, check the rear brake pipes as they rot too!

Cheers Craig. I hear you… but chose the paint option for now. I’ve spent more money than I have at the moment (‘tis the birthday season for our families).

Urgh… looks like a sooner rather than later job for those brake lines! I did take a picture but can’t find it… that’s odd…

I replaced both my rear flexi-pipes a few months ago and judging by the looks of yours, they look very similar to mine and I ended up having to cut them off, as you almost certainly won’t be able to split the pipes at the bracket without ruining it and then adding a new piece of the steel brake pipe (which was rusty) as well as replacing the spring clips that keeps the tension on the joint, as these get destroyed when you cut the pipe.
