The cost of importing into Ireland has gone bonkers since Brexit.

We are hit with four taxes now: Vat, Import duty, Nox and Vrt

So prior to Brexit it was worth importing most of the time but now it's just gone wild

Wow, £20,000 for a 3.6 2010 with 119,000 miles on the clock!!! That’s insane.

Ireland 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

Update!

So I sold my 2010 3.6 TDV8 about 6/7 weeks ago and last week I found a nice 2011 4.4 TDV8.

It was definitely worth the hassle, even just to come up a year on a plate. The 4.4 is smoother, nicer steering, more power and refined.

Thanks for the advice & nudge!

Just another update on this. Thanks for the push to get the 4.4 from the members on here.

I sold the 2011 one I bought as a 2012 Westminster came up for sale and I couldn't say no!

I love it, just delighted with the spec etc.

United Kingdom

Decided to join the club. Looking for my first RR which will be an FF no doubt.

I am on the fence between a 3.6 TDV8 of a 4.4 TDV8.
I understand how the 4.4 would be a "better" car, with more power and smother transmission and a bit more reliable. But is it that much better over the 3.6?

Would the difference still hold when considering price/cost?

When consider both cars to be 2010, similar milages (say 90k) and trims, the gap difference would be around £2-3k looking around. If going with a 3.6, I would be happy with a 2007 so then the difference increases to >£5k.

Is the 2010 4.4 so much better that it warrants the extra cash?

I'd appreciate all perspectives on the matter. Thanks

PS I'm not really on a budget here or trying to save a few £. I am simply considering market prices.
