That looks about right to me, mine goes right down so the tyres are just inside the top of the wheel arches.. The car should always be left in Access Height as you probably know and if it rises and drives ok then there shouldn't be a problem. All LR cars from 1984

Thanks Chalky - to be honest I assumed that if there was a problem it would flag up on the warning lamps/messages (which it hasn't). I only recently acquired this car and it's just that I don't recall my previous L405 settling quite this low when parked. I always have the 'access height' activated for all the reasons you and others mention. |

If there is a major air suspension issue it will rear its head soon enough....with either sagging to one side or when one of the airbags pop while you're driving (ask me how I know....on my L322 hahah)

Hi this is not normal, the car should stay at the height you left it over night.

405's almost always drop overnight... Just as Chalky said above, leave them in access height is the best bet... |

Agreed. I never buy into this leave it in access mode when you get out shpeal. The suspension is finicky enough and an area of likely repair whether it be the bags or comprsssor or block etc. why put even more added unneeded wear. I’ve never owned a RR that didn’t need suspension work atleast once. Curious how much did the dealer charge to replace the valve block? Did they replace with the upgraded part? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC 2008 FFRR (sold) 2008 BMW M5 |

What is your year/model of your 4.4? I have a 2014 L405 5.0L SC Autobio. I assume same part? that’s a lot more reasonable than I have heard in the past. I have heard several thousand. I wonder how hard of a DIY this would be I occasionally get a “vehicle lean while cornering” error. And my suspension sometimes “dances” at startup after sitting overnight like it’s trying to figure itself out. I’m thinking my block in the culprit 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC 2008 FFRR (sold) 2008 BMW M5 |

The valve block is located behind the NSF wheel up under the sill trim…

322’s from 09> do the same thing… Ford era 322’s don’t! But all RR’s from 09 onwards that sit here, all do the same thing! |

All of the air suspension RRs I have owned (2000 P38 4.6, L322 2004 4.4 and 2012 4.4 TDV8 and 2017 L405) did this eventually, it got more pronounced with age. I had one airbag replaced, on the 2004 car, when it split while the wheels were hanging down on the dealer workshop ramp, but otherwise just lived with it. When the 2004 car was maybe nine years old and over 90,000 miles it got quite bad, with it taking quite a while for the car to get up to height, but once it did so it drove well enough (subject to all the other issue that affected that car). My 405 is just starting to do it now. Maybe the airbags get a bit porous with age, or seals lose tightness, and leak tiny amounts that one hardly notices normally?
