United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

Just recently got back from a week's holiday up along the North-eastern coast - Newcastle all the way up to the Scottish border.
Just shy of 1000 miles in total, and averaged 32.7mpg for the whole trip, which with 3 adults and a seriously full boot was good going Smile Current

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Zermatt Silver

Averaging 27mpg. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

Off to Spain in the Morning via Portsmouth - Santander

Where last time, I delivered our 1.9TDIe Audi A3. That got us from Manchester to Javea, via London and Portsmouth - Bilabo for around £60 of diesel

I think we may be running into £150-£180 this time

Who cares, it will be worth it.........

^^ no idea how you are getting 20+ mpg from the Ford SC 5.0 V8.....you must be near 100% highway. Typical is 15mpg range

Possibly US gallons v UK gallons? UK gallon = 1.2 US gallon

If you ever wondered why our gallons are different sizes, the US uses a Queen Anne wine gallon as their measure, and the UK uses a beer gallon as our measure. Back in ye olden days a gallon varied in size based on how strong the drink was.

Back in 1824 the UK realised that this was a dumb idea, and adopted a standard gallon. The US decided to skip that round off common sense.

Just realised I put this in the wrong place, So I will add it here too.

Okay. Usually heavy UK traffic, stop-start, lots of 50mph roadworks down to Portsmouth. Docked in Santander and did the first trip before re-fuelling in Haro. To be fair, the car was heavily loaded. It’s also a lot of hill climbing up to Haro.

Still around the 27 mark in my Td6.

Just seen the above post with the fancy app for consumption. I must be getting old, I worked mine out old style, with a pencil on the back of a fag packet, it's an old engineers trick Rolling with laughter

I kept it to 70mph max and there was quite a bit of traffic, but when I drove back from Manchester on Friday it managed 40.3mpg. Shows what it can achieve when you don't press on, although if it was accurately calculated it would be c37.5-38mpg. Still pretty good and a lot better than normal. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
