Thanks John... I have had a look at Land Rover's own replacement docs and I might have to do it since I'll need a new service record anyway as the next one will complete the 10 spaces in the original book...

My second hand GAP IID BT tool turned up in the post today. Patrick at GAP was super fast responding to the unlock email and within minutes I have already discovered that what it gives with one hand apparently is taken with the other!

So I went in to modify the CCF to give me a digital speed readout in the speedometer ring to mirror the gear selection window in the tachometer. Added one-press superlock and activated DRLs.

I find that it has cleared my FM and TV presets, in fact I can't seem to get a TV picture at all now, and it has stopped one-touch window closing and wing mirror folding.

Only when you edit the CCF. You can re calibrate the windows using the IID.

Ok cool - how about the folding wing mirrors? Is that because I've coded one-press superlock? Before they used to fold in on first press and then I'd have to press the fob a second time to get the superlock. 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue

My mirrors do the exactly the same but sometimes fold first time. Just unlock and lock it again and they’ll fold in.

Brilliant, thanks guys, mirrors reset themselves after unlock and lock cycle. Found the thread elsewhere on here about pulling the switches for the windows to reset that and they too now work as they should.

Next stop service on Monday. I’m mildly concerned that my turbo can be heard when driving - but is that just because I’m coming from a TD5 Defender where the engine is so loud you can’t? 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue

Right, service completed, I have had what they referred to as a "B Service". As far as I can make out, independents and even some JLR main dealers refer to all servicing under the Defender terminology since the manual calls Range Rover services "Oil Service" and then Inspection 1 and 2...

Anyway - changed filters for oil, air, pollen and fuel. I presume it also included an oil change?

Items noted at the bottom of the invoice:

Oil leak from rear of engine; fixed by replacement of two o-rings. (They told me this is an oil pipe fitment which LR will not supply seals and requires a whole part replacement, so they have sourced a supplier of o-rings to rectify for £2.88 instead of hundreds)

Slight play in nearside rear upper rose joint
Rear brake pipes slight corrosion

So, how worried should I be by either of those two things? I had rear brake pipes give up on me in my Defender and I ended up being brought home on the back of an AA truck because my brake fluid was in the grass on Salisbury Plain. There have been a few posts about the oil leak and those O rings. There might be a “how to” in the wiki....

Hopefully that sorts it, or it will be the oil cooler....

I had rear brake pipe split in January, and as my pedal went to the floor, it stuffed the seals in the master cylinder too. Just under £700 all in. If you are keeping it for a while, I’d get the brake pipes replaced... £250 ish I imagine.....
