If money allows yes, replace both turbos and both egr’s. Otherwise it’s a gamble. |

Wouldn't dream of paying out to replace fully functional turbos on the offchance that they *might* fail! If you have it, invest that money elsewhere, IF the turbos ever let go, then that is the time to replace them. 160k miles on original turbos and I have no reason to think they will need replacing any time soon.

I couldn’t believe the mechanical roughness of one of our EGR’s when we replaced them, on a low mileage car. I’d certainly consider them a maintenance item. I used to regularly check the actual vs commanded performance of them, it was clear when one was starting to misbehave so we quickly replaced both with genuine items.
