I’m having issues with my three month old battery losing charge and think I’ll get an AGM for my FF. In your experience, before installing the AGM battery was your battery running out of power every 4 to 5 days?

Not many details sorry, but went to my favourite local family owned business for a battery for my 06 Td6 last December.
Battery is a Lucas Premium, ( no other details at the moment ) fitted battery, carried out steering lock check and bingo, no problems. Car sits for days with no use, and since has mainly only done short journeys, recently carried out a two day clean / detail on the car with doors / tailgate opened for most of the time, then upon stating, start was instant as usual. Guy who owns the business swears by these batteries, and as I have dealt with him for over thirty years, I respect his advice.

Last point, almost forgot, cannot remember exact price, but I think it was around £120, so I cannot complain.
( It is a small family business, that beats other prices at least 95% of the time ) I have also had this brand in another car, three years and it was still spot on.

Whilst you may get away with replacing a flooded battery with AGM, it's down to luck because the AGM needs different charging voltages and currents, thats why smart chargers have a setting for AGM! Is your intended vehicle able to be set to AGM mode?

Stuck an agm in my 2007 4.2 over 4 years ago

No problems whatsoever with charging and I suspect that the alternator doesn't know what it chucks out it, it just charges the thing without issue
