try and get a look underneath, it might be something as simple as the exhaust or exhaust covers rattling..

That sounds very much like CV joint to me or possibly a UJ on propshaft, only from experience on other cars not RR. I'm sure others will advise shortly.

Between the front driveshaft and the rear of the gearbox there is a rubber doughnut joint. I'd be inclined to see if it is still intact and the bolts are tight and in place. |

I'll second the CV joint, sounds exactly like my old defender when it's CV broke. Could be a Universal Joint / doughnut in the prop shaft but they spin much faster and usually are felt as a vibration once your at up to speed.

It could possibly be the rear propshaft centre bearing has gone. The rubber surround on the bearing perishes / splits and you get a lot of noise and vibration when moving. You did mention that when you hit the propshaft it rang like a bell, so it could be that the rubber has totally gone, causing the clatter we could hear on the video. Towing a large boat may have put enough stress on the propshaft to cause the final failure of the bearing. |

May I suggest you join the french group and tell them where you are. there may be a local that could help, even if it is already at the garage.
