The original trims should have tabs as well, sometimes they snap off when you try to remove the trims. I recently replaced my tailgate trims and used a stanley knife blade to get the old (snapped off) tabs out from under the window glass. The tabs are there to keep the trim in place and shouldn't be cut off. It can be a bit fiddly getting the tabs into place when fitting, best thing is to leave the tape on, locate the tabs under the glass then carefully pull the tape off whilst keeping the tabs in place with a small screwdriver or bit of plastic. It's also why the tabs have an extra long tape 'tail' on them. |

on my 2010 it has never had them fitted ( bought it 3 years old ) and first owner was my brother |
